Untitled Pt 10

Just as she was about to go into Jaedon's room again she heard a knock at the door. The one right at the top of her stairs. Before Kayla could go and see who it was at the door, it burst open. Half a dozen men came through and looked around. One of them seeing her motioned to a couple men.
"Get her!" he snapped. Two of the men came at her. Kayla stepped back with one foot.
"What are you doing here?" she asked her voice calm but inside her head she was panicking.
"Find Experiment Nine," the same man snapped to the others. Kayla's eyes flicked to the open door to the guest room then back at the men who were almost on her. She leapt forward and punch one in the solar plexus then as he doubled over she punched the other in the face.
"I'm gonna kill you brat!" the one who she punched in the face snarled. Kayla just punched him again then kicked him in the shins. Suddenly she was grabbed from behind, pinning her arms to her sides. Kayla bucked against whoever it was, trying to land a kick where it counted. Finally one of the men dropped her to the ground and held her on her knees.
"Stop struggling brat!" one of the men snarled and hit her across the head, stunning her.
"Who are you people? What do you want?" she demanded after her vision cleared. She looked around for the man who seemed to be in charge. He was no longer in her vision.
"Kayla?" she heard Jaedon cry from the room. Her heart sank. The man holding her hoisted her to her feet twisting one of her arms behind her.
"Grant, get in here," someone called from Jaedon's room.
"Get off me!" Kayla heard Jaedon cry and there was the sound of someone fighting. One of the men who had assisted the other two in subduing Kayla walked into the bedroom. The man twisting Kayla's arm moved her over so that they were standing in the doorway.
The men in the other room had Jaedon pinned down. His eyes were wild like a frightened cornered animal. As he kept struggling, one man held down one of Jaedon's arms and another held is other arm with his other hand pressing against Jaedon's throat. He struggled, his face turning red from lack of oxygen.
"No! Stop! You're gonna suffocate him!" Kayla cried her voice breaking. The men ignored him. The one in charge uncapped a syringe and moved to the side of the bed.
"What are you doing? Stop! Please!" Kayla said. The man paid her no heed and inserted the needle into vein in the side of his neck. Jaedon stopped struggling and his limbs went limp. His shaking subsided as well.
"What did you do?" Kayla cried beginning to struggle to get free. The man just twisted her arm further making her cry out.
"Did you kill him?" she asked frantically. The man with the syringe looked at her and raised an eyebrow.
"No, he was sick was he not? That will help him, it also keeps him paralyze , so he is less of a problem for us! It's a win win situation," he said winking at her. Kayla frowned and struggled again. The man clouted her over the back of the head and she stopped.
"What are you going to do with him?" she asked, already guessing the answer.
"With him? Oh, not just him," he said smiling unpleasantly. Kayla's eyes widened. The man's smiled wider.
"That's right, you both are coming back to the lab, boss asked for you specifically, seeing as you took his property. He would like to," the man paused. "Chat with you," he said smiling again. Kayla didn't respond, just glared at him. The man smiled mockingly at her and turned to the two men standing over the bed.
"Lift him to a sitting position," he ordered, moving back towards the bed. He reached down the side of the bed where Kayla couldn't see, and started rummaging around in something. He took out a few thick leather straps and threw two of them onto the bed, whilst keeping a third in his hand. He reached around Jaedon from the back and pulled it tight against the upper part of Jaedon's chest. He buckled it tightly in the back, ensuring that he got the wings in tightly. He did the same with the others around the middle of Jaedon's chest and around his abdomen.
"Now, we all know that flying is against the rules, but he doesn't, I would hate for him to suddenly wake up and take off, that might present a problem," he said. The men laughed.
"Alright, let's go," he turned to Kayla. "You had better not give us any problems, boss wants you, but he doesn't care what shape you are in, I will not hesitate to hit you. We are going to go outside, you will not scream or shout or try to get your neighbors awake to come and rescue you. If you do," he paused and reached into his jacket, he drew out a pistol halfway. "I don't know whether or not I'd shoot them or you, probably them, cause the boss wouldn't like you dead," he said. Kayla bared her teeth in frustration.
"Now now, none of that, will you cooperate? or would you like a dead neighbor?" he asked.
Kayla nodded stiffly. "I'll cooperate, for now." The man chuckled.
"Alright, bring him," he ordered, jerking his head towards the spare room. One of the men walked in and swung Jaedon over his shoulder. He turned and looked at the man holding her. "I'll take her, she said she would cooperate, but I'd like to be sure," he smiled slightly. The man nodded and released Kayla. She glared at him and rubbed her arms.
The man in charge grabbed Kayla's arm and maneuvered her in front of him and gestured towards the door. "You lot out first, she and I will go last."
Kayla frowned but didn't say anything. The men complied and they were soon down the stairs.
"Alright move girl," the man said and shoved her towards the stairs. He closed the door behind him and they made their way down the stairs to the outside. As they were going down the path to the road they heard someone at the door beside Kayla's. The man carrying Jaedon quickly swung him down and supported him so it looked like he was standing. A light flicked on and an elderly woman stepped out.
"Kayla? Is everything all right?" she asked.
The man let go of Kayla's arm and reached for his gun. He pointed it surreptitiously at the lady. Kayla stepped forward and pasted a fake smile on her face.
"Yup it is Mrs. Jansen! A group of friends and I are gonna go hang out! Thanks for checking in!" she said cheerily.
"Alright, you take care dear!" Mrs. Jansen said and turned back into the house. After a moment the light flicked off again.
Kayla jumped as the man took her arm again.
"Nicely done, now move," he said and pushed her towards a gray van. One of the men swung open the door and they all entered the van. The two men carrying Jaedon deposited him onto the floor. One man got into the drivers seat and once everyone was in and the doors were shut, he started the van and they began moving. As soon as they started moving the man sitting next to her took out a zap-strap and grabbed her wrists. Kayla pulled back but the man quickly tightened the strap around her wrists. Kayla winced as he pulled it to tight. Kayla yanked at the strap but it didn't move. She glared at the man for a moment but didn't say anything, he smiled slightly. "By the way, my name is Shawn, yours?" he asked. Kayla didn't answer him. Shawn chuckled and leaned his head back. Kayla looked around the van at the faces of the men. If she met their eyes they grinned unpleasantly at her. She shook her head and looked down at Jaedon. He was still limp, and every time they hit a bump he would be jostled around the van. If he bumped into one of the men's legs, they would kick him and push him roughly away.
"Why don't you sit him in a seat and buckle him? He wouldn't offend your legs by accidentally bumping them!" She said after a moment. They didn't even acknowledge she spoke to them.
"Hey, knock it off boys, Boss doesn't want those goods damaged!" Shawn snapped. The men grumbled but complied.
Twenty minutes later the van stopped and one of the men jumped up and slid open the door. Another hoisted Jaedon over his shoulder and stepped out of the van carefully. After the last man was out, Shawn again took Kayla's arm and made her stand and step down out of the car. They caught up to the other men. They went around the back of the building and entered into the door that Kayla had exited with Jaedon just a few days earlier.
"Hey Boss! We're back!" Shawn called out. A man came into view from around a tall metal container. Kayla recognized him instantly, it was the scientist she had met the day she took Jaedon.
"Finally, and I see you did as I asked, good. You there," the man pointed at the one carrying Jaedon, "Put him on the table through there," he ordered. The man carried Jaedon off. The scientist came towards Shawn and her. After a few paces he stopped abruptly.
"You? The clumsy janitor?" he exclaimed.
A slight smile crossed Kayla's face. "Yup, me," she said. The scientist looked her over then jerked his head at Shawn.
"Get one of your men to find a chair, then cut her loose and then zap-strap her to the chair. I want her in the same area as Experiment Nine," he said. He strode away towards where they brought Jaedon. One of the men found a chair and Shawn sat her down firmly into it. Kayla struggled but the man held her down while Shawn secured her. Once he was done he stood back into the shadows. Kayla stopped struggling abruptly and sat back, staring calmly at the scientist, who was looking Jaedon over carefully. After a moment he looked up at Kayla as he moved to a table with various items on it.
"You have cause me a lot of trouble, you could have killed this experiment!" he said putting on rubber gloves.
Kayla frowned. "How?" she asked.
"He still has some kinks in him, if we hadn't brought him back today, he would have been dead very soon," he explained as he filled a syringe from a vial.
"What sort of kinks?" Kayla asked. He held it up, looking intently at it, ignoring her. He flicked the vial and squirted some of it out to get the air out of the syringe. He picked up a small packet from the table. Moving back to Jaedon, he opened the packet and pulled out a wipe, he cleaned the arm and then inserted the needle into the veins in Jaedon's arm. The scientist watched the liquid level slowly lowered. He pulled the needle out and applied pressure on the arm. The man dropped the syringe on the table. Taking surgical tape and some gauze, he put both where the needle had gone. That done he turned back to Kayla.

Sorry I haven't posted in a long time. Life got crazy.
But here is the deal, what you just read, that is it, that is all I have for this story. I don't know if I will get the chance to finish it any time soon. I hope too, but I currently have two stories I am trying to finish up, and a story I am writing with a friend. This one is on a back burner currently. Sorry to any readers who were following this story! :P
