Blank, Pt 1

I feel like posting a story I am writing currently, the one blank that I mentioned in a below post. It has no title as of yet.. hence.. 'blank'
Please feel free to comment and critique!

Oh gosh, this place is huge! Where the heck am I?? the girl thought as she descended the stairs. Kayla looked at the large black arrow pointing to a door. She looked up to see the numbers written on the gray wall. Hmm. Was it the third floor or the fourth? She wondered. She had just gotten this job to clean the labs. Her first job was either the third or the fourth floor. She couldn't remember. The person who had showed her where to punch in had hardly said anything. She was pretty much on her own. She went to the first floor and cracked open the door. She shivered. It was cold and dark down here.
"H-hello?" she called out stammering. There was no reply. She crept in hesitantly. In front of her behind a semi-transparent plastic there was a green body bag on a metal table. She pushed aside the plastic and walked over to the table. She idly looked at the tag on the bag. Experiment IX it read. She frowned, curious. She walked around the table and unzipped the bag. She stepped back with a gasp. She looked down at the person on the table. It was a man. From what she could see he had no shirt on. She did notice that he had a strap just under his shoulders, wrapping around his chest. He was shivering slightly. She could tell he was young by the lines on his face. She felt sick as she looked at him. He could be almost handsome, if it weren't for the black stitches that stood out against his pale skin. Someone had stitched his mouth and eyes closed. She could see his eyes moving rapidly under his eyelids and his chest moved up and down quickly. She snapped her fingers in front of his face to see if he was conscious or if he was just sedated. When he didn't respond she stepped back. He wasn't conscious. She heard a door creak and looked up. She quickly zipped up the bag and turned around and pretended to be looking for something.
"What are you doing here?" A demanding voice snapped. Kayla whirled around, accidentally knocking over something. She flinched as it smashed on the floor.
"I am looking for my first position," she looked at the broken glass on the floor and knelt. The man looked at her distrustfully but stopped his scrutiny after a moment.
"What have you touched?" he asked narrowing his eyes. Kayla didn't look at him. She set about picking up the shards of glass.
"I touched the door, and then that plastic sheet and then that cabinet door and then-" the man held up his hands stopping her in her rambling speech. Kayla's hands shook and she cut her palm with one of the shards. Blood welled from her palm. The man went to a cabinet and took out a jar. He handed it to her.
"Unscrew the cap and put some on your hand," He said dropping the jar on the floor next to her. She looked up at him then unscrewed the cap awkwardly with one hand. She scooped out a glob and spread it over her hand. Almost immediately the blood stopped and formed a scab. She looked back up at him in surprise but he didn't see as he was turned around looking down at the body bag. She stood up momentarily forgetting about the shards of glass. She cleared her throat.
"Um, here," she said extending the jar to the man's back. He didn't turn around. He just waved a hand at her.
"Keep it, I have others," he said. She nodded and looked at the mess on the floor.
"Um, where is a trash?" she asked after a pause. He turned around and started propelling her out the door.
"Don't worry about it, I will clean it myself later, go, this is not the room you are supposed to be cleaning. I assure you," he said as he pushed her out into the hall and slammed the door in her face. Kayla shook her head.
"Thanks," she muttered. She made a face at the door and headed back up the stairs.

End first part.
